Langosta is the laid back beach neighborhood at the south end of Tamarindo.
Quieter than it's rockin' neighbor to the north, Langosta has a different vibe.
Full of delicious food and unspoiled beaches, yet a one kilometer (0.7 mile) walk through the neighborhood
or along the beach gets you to everything Tamarindo has to offer.

Villa Zafiro/Casa Brisas del Estero is the perfect home base to explore Tamarindo, Guanacaste and the Nicoya Peninsula of Costa Rica. Or just slow down and enjoy the neighborhood, beaches and national park right out your front door.
The Villa is spacious with high ceilings, large windows, an open balcony, huge patio and a beautiful view of the pool and jungle. Stay cool with A/C in every room and wind-down comfortably in any of the four private bedrooms, including two master suites.

One of the joys of this home is that the design makes it easy to re-connect with friends or family while still having your privacy and own space. Bedrooms are large, quiet, very private and separated from the living areas, allowing even the introverts space to relax and recharge.

There is a small kitchen and living area that serves two of the upstairs bedrooms allowing for that bit of extra space.
The brand new large open kitchen and indoor and outdoor common spaces are generous and connected by large glass sliders allowing visual connection and beautiful views.
The house has good acoustics too, so it is fun to listen to music or play guitar and sing if you are so inclined. You'll sound great!
Cook together, enjoy cocktails by the pool, play games, watch movies, swim under the stars, lounge in the hammock, or take the short walk ( 4 minutes) to the beach for surfing, tide pooling, or sunset. You can do all of that here.
If someone does have to do a little work or hop on a Zoom meeting, each bedroom has a beautiful desk and WIFI mesh system giving good internet access throughout the house.

Because it is our family vacation home and not just another vanilla rental, it is fully stocked with everything we need and love while we are here and want to share with you... an espresso maker, equipment for easily preparing large meals including an instapot, yoga mats, cards and other adult and kid games, pool floats, or take a big shaker of margaritas and chairs to the beach in our beach wagon to enjoy the always amazing sunsets.
Our Location
We are only a 75 minute drive, on paved roads, from the airport in Liberia, Costa Rica. Rent a car or use a convenient and affordable shuttle service to bring you right to the front door.

Conveniently located in the Langosta neighborhood and a very short walk to amazing beaches, our home will surround you with the charm and excitement of Costa Rica!

It's easy to get into the "pura vida" vibe here. Walk up the beach for morning yoga or use our mats for yoga stretching on your own jungle view patio. Get a $40 hour massage on the beach in the shade of the trees while listening to the waves crash. Rent a surfboard for $10 a day and try out some gentle beginner or intermediate waves. Take a kayak out to a little island for some snorkeling and tidepooling. Toast the day with a happy hour margarita and top it off with an always spectacular sunset.
Dine at one of our neighborhood’s many amazing restaurants. Watch advanced surfers catch waves at the Playa Langosta breaks. Rent bikes or a golf cart for some extra fun zipping around Langosta and Tamarindo. Don’t miss live music, fire shows on the beach or salsa dancing in one of the local bars.
Because we are in Costa Rica, of course, and next to a national park with miles of pristine beach and jungle, it is absolutely delightful to experience the animals, even from your own back yard. Watch howler monkeys in the treetops. See and hear amazing birds with unique and incredibly interesting voices. Spy geckos and iguanas or say hi to our neighborhood horse that likes to visit the back gate for an apple. Wander around the beach and neighborhood and discover huge land crabs, anteaters, hermit crabs, giant toads and more! We love to photograph the amazing animals of Costa Rica that show up during our day-to-day.

About your Hosts
Welcome to our family home in Costa Rica! We both teach at a University in the US and love to spend time here with our family and friends when we can. When we are teaching in-person back in the States, we offer our home for you to enjoy in this beautiful spot! We wanted a place where we could adventure but also disconnect, unwind, slow down and really enjoy some analog time with our kids, family and friends. We also wanted to be able to walk to everything... and not have to get in the car. And we wanted a place where everyone in our family would find things they love to do, no matter their age or interests. This has all that and more than we ever imagined.
